The student poster session is sponsored by the Weather Analysis and Forecasting (WAF) Committee. The student poster session is just one of the student focused activities at the 2012 NWA Annual Meeting on Sunday October 7th. The day will start with a special Student Session which will feature talks from professionals in different meteorological sectors including government, academia, and private sector careers. There will also be a workshop on the importance and implementation of social media. Following a poster session and some highlighted talks from students, there will be a DVD critique session. The DVD sessions offers those interested in broadcasting the opportunity to have your work evaluated by professional broadcast meteorologists and obtain tips on how to improve their broadcasting skills.

Another exciting feature of the Student Session is a speed mentoring session. Students will meet with professionals for brief, 10-15 minute intervals and discuss career options, resumes, etc. There will be more information soon on the sign-up process for this opportunity.
